Obesity & Wrinkles - September 12th, 2009

I was having a conversation with two friends recently. One was lamenting the additional layer of fat that was accumulating around her middle. She wondered if it was the result of simply being older. My other friend a Scorpio was quick to let her know that most of us in this country eat far too much and that is what creates the extra padding. Both friends do tend toward the plump side which somehow is becoming or just natural after sixty. I am not sixty and run almost every day and do not tend toward this nature. And I thought a long moment upon the words my friend had stated.

Yes indeed we eat far too much in this country and that is not our nature or the nature of a human being/animal. Fast food has generated overweight and idle people who don’t know what cooking is about sometimes. Food goes into the microwave. So not only are we not nourishing ourselves we are overstuffing with preservatives and artificial ingredients. What a way to be! And then in order to lose weight we offer ourselves a variety of diet pills, weight loss programs and even surgery to prevent us from eating when all that we need to do is eat properly; more like how we did the eating thing not that long ago—maybe only fifty years ago. Much healthier and community oriented.
