Essential Oils For Skincare - August 18th, 2009

For thousands of years we have used the oils of flowers for healing and beauty. Recently there has been research done that shows evidence of Frankincense oil as highly beneficial to bladder cancer treatment. The reports are still brief as the studies are mostly being performed under controlled conditions but there is the indication that this very old essential oil has the ability to heal bladder cancer. Frankincense was an oil presented to baby Jesus by one of the three wise men. It has a sweet, spicy aroma and has been successful in treating skin disorders, circulation problems and urinary tract infections. It is also an antibacterial, antiseptic and anti depressive. All one need do is smell the scent of Frankincense to be lifted from mental fatigue or unhappiness. The aroma seems to stimulate the mood receptors and to elevate our sense of gratitude for being here. Frankincense is used in the incense of Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox churches. High quality oils can be obtained by doing a little investigation on line as there is a difference in quality. For a truly uplifting experience try Black Spruce or one of the Cedar oils. And for an all round oil lavender is the best!
